Full service
The annual one. Everything the interim covers, plus the filters and plugs.
A full service takes in the air filter, the cabin filter, the fuel filter where fitted, and spark plugs when they are due by mileage — on top of everything in the interim service.
These are the parts that degrade quietly. A clogged air filter costs fuel without ever lighting a warning lamp. A cabin filter that has not been changed in years is why the windows mist up and the heater smells. None of it is dramatic, and all of it adds up.
How you know you need it
- Twelve months or around 12,000 miles since the last full service
- Fuel economy has quietly got worse
- The heater smells musty or the windows mist up more than they did
- You are about to sell, and a stamped book is worth real money
What we actually do
- 1 Everything in the interim service, plus:
- 2 Air filter and cabin filter replaced
- 3 Spark plugs where due by mileage, fuel filter where fitted
- 4 Full inspection of brakes, suspension, steering, exhaust and underbody
- 5 Battery tested under load, not just voltage checked
- 6 Service book stamped and a written report of anything found
Questions about this job
Why is it confirmed by phone?
Because filters and plugs differ by engine and have to be on the shelf before you arrive. We ring to confirm so the car is not stuck on a ramp waiting for a part.
How long does it take?
Allow about two and a half hours. Most people leave the car and come back.
Is it worth it over an interim?
Once a year, yes. The filters and plugs are exactly the parts an interim does not touch, and they are the ones that quietly cost you fuel.
